What is a Magic Band?

A Magic Band is a lightweight, flexible, water-proof all-in-one device that contains a RF'id chip that you wear on your wrist like a watch or bracelet.

It comes in an assortment of standard colors including: pink, red, orange, green, yellow, blue, gray and purple.

How do you get them?

The standard color Magic Bands are FREE of charge to all guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort and you can customize your bands with your favorite color and your name (imprinted on the INSIDE of the band to protect your privacy).

If you customize your bands at least 10 days prior to your arrival at your Walt Disney World Resort, they will be shipped direct to your home. If you customize them later than that (9 to 6 days prior), you will receive them at your resort. If you wait too long and do not customize them within 5 days or less, you will still receive the bands at your resort, but they will not be customized with your name and you may not be able to select your color.

Specialty Magic Bands can also be purchased at www.disneystore.com, but will not be customized with your name. The prices range from $12.95 for the standard colors and between $19.95 to $29.95 for the specialty bands.

What makes the Magic Band MAGICAL?

The Magic Band adds a touch of magic by connecting all of your Walt Disney World vacation choices you make with the My Disney Experience.

Your band acts as your room key and unlocks the door at your resort, allows you to enter the theme parks, access your FastPass+ and allows you to buy food and merchandise (with a linked credit card), thus eliminating the need to carry a room key, park tickets, cash and/or credit cards.

Because you wear this MAGIC on your wrist you do not have to rummage around in a bag or pockets for these things and since the Magic Band is water-proof you don't have to worry about it getting wet in the shower, on any of the water rides, at the waterparks or while swimming.
